Comprehensive Dentistry

Dentistry, we all need it. Our teeth are so important to us so it’s vital that we keep them clean and healthy for as long as possible. One of the best ways to ensure we keep them healthy is by visiting the dentist at least once a year. Whether you head to the Dr Silman Smile Spa representative, or perhaps someone a little closer to home, your annual visit is essential.

Comprehensive dentistry is our mission. We have practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in Hawaii for more than 18 years.

When examining a patient I consider their oral and overall body health. I am looking to see if their gums are healthy. One out of every three people does have periodontal disease and may not even realize it. I also pay close attention to their bite alignment and examine for the decay of teeth and their structure.

It’s important to consider the long-term dental health, function and beauty of each patient. It’s my job to give each patient the proper diagnoses and treatment plan according to their needs.

The economic repercussions of 9/11 have even affected the dental community, as many have delayed their routine dental appointments. In an ideal world we would like to see and treat patients when problems are still very minor.

In addition to helping fix the stress-related problems of patient’s teeth, it helps to have state-of-theart technology. Our latest piece of equipment is the Orthophos C-T scanner, which allows for the viewing of a patient’s entire jaw in a single scan.

An event I co-sponsor with Patterson Dental is the Hawaii Future Dentists Symposium. This annual event is free and open to all high school juniors and seniors interested in becoming a dentist. The event features various dental providers with different specialty backgrounds. They will be discussing the joys and challenges of their profession and specialty. They also will share why they decided to become a dentist.

Lastly, I like to give back to the community by volunteering for several worthy causes.

I also feel honored giving back to each patient by sharing with them the most individualized and comprehensive treatments available, allowing them to learn and choose what is best for them.
