Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Gene Kim has been named senior revenue manager with Aston Hotels & Resorts. He will oversee the Oahu portfolio of Aston properties, with a focus on the company’s condominium resorts. Kim has more than a decade of hospitality management experience and most recently worked at Dimension Development Company in Colorado, where he was responsible for the revenue management of 14 Hilton-branded branches throughout the United States.
Sherrie Kunishige has been appointed senior customer service supervisor at Hawaii National Bank’s Hawaii Kai branch. She now will oversee the operation of the Hawaii Kai and Kaimuki branches and assist the branch manager in business development. Kunishige has worked for the company for more than two decades and most recently served in the transaction management department.
Derek Vail has been named director of operations for Jamba Hawaii. He now is responsible for day-to-day store operations, maximizing sales and providing exceptional customer service and excellent product quality. Vail previously was general manager for several Jamba stores in California.
Ellen Speier has been named director of support services at The Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu. She will direct environmental health and safety, emergency preparedness, facilities, biomed and more. Speier has more than a decade’s worth of experience in health care administration and previously served as health system administrator for Tripler Army Medical Center’s department of surgery.
Cristina Livesay has been promoted to vice president and senior trust officer in the retirement plan services department with Bank of Hawaii. She now is responsible for the administration of retirement and pension plans, and is supervisor of all department account specialists. Prior to joining the bank in 1993, Livesay was client services officer at American Trust Company.
Tony Mizuno has been elected president of Historic Hawaii Foundation by a unanimous vote of its members. He is senior vice president and manager of the commercial real estate division at Bank of Hawaii, and was appointed to HFF’s board of trustees in summer 2010 and was elected to a full term the following year. Mizuno previously served as board member and past president for Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii.
Isabel Figel has joined the Kailua practice of David Shores of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. as client service manager. In this role, she will oversee office operations and provide client support. Figel previously was general manager with Regus-Corporate Office Centers executive business center, which offered office rentals, virtual office and meeting room services
Chris Clark has been named district manager for Jamba Hawaii. He now will oversee all aspects of daily operations for Jamba stores in Honolulu and on Kauai. Clark joined Jamba Hawaii in 2003, and most recently was manager at the Apple store in Ala Moana and was with Blockbuster for 14 years.
