Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii
Rod Saunders has been promoted to distribution manager of Servco Automotive’s Subaru Hawaii. Saunders has held a number of corporate positions, including general manager of Scion and Servco Auto Windward (formerly Windward Toyota). In his new role, Saunders will be responsible for all Subaru vehicle distribution in the state and partnering with independent Subaru dealers on Maui and Big Island.
Joy Barua has been promoted to director of community benefit and health policy for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. In this expanded role, Barua will work with the organization’s strategic planning, government relations and regional leadership on the state health exchange and health care transformation resulting from the federal health care law, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Previously, Barua served as interim executive director and director of finance for Honolulu Community Action Program.
Arden Penton has been named director of marketing and operations for Volta Industries LLC (Volta), Hawaii’s only free-to-use electric vehicle charging stations. In this role, Penton oversees business operations and community relations with Volta’s network of property managers and corporate sponsors. She also will direct overall marketing strategies, including advertising, social media, special events and media relations. Previously, Penton worked heavily in management, sales and marketing in California.
Chason Ishii has been hired by HHL Holdings Inc., parent company to Honolulu Home Loans Inc., as its new company president. Ishii will lead the expansion of HHL’s product base as it increases its services and offerings to complement the successful Honolulu HomeLoans, Hawaii’s premier mortgage banker. Ishii is a community leader, devoting a large portion of his time as executive committee member of HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support). He also is a trustee for Public Schools of Hawaii Foundation.
