The Weinberg Friends program continues to nourish the community, and two Windward Oahu groups — a school and a nonprofit family service organization — are its latest recipients.

Parents Inc. of Kaneohe accepted a $10,000 check from Pali Lions Club July 26, which represents the Lions’ “reward” from the Weinberg Foundation, for being a friend by sprucing up the Lanikai Elementary School campus that day and building a giant chess board for the students.

Coming from Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation’s Friends account, the donation goes first to Pali Lions Club, which earns it by meeting requirements of the volunteer project; the club then turns the check over to a charity of its choice.

Parents Inc. (Providing Awareness Referrals Education Nurturing Therapy Support) is a social service agency focused on preventing child abuse via education and treatment services for families.
