A Fresh, New Lifestyle Blog For Oahu

Earlier this month, Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties launched a new lifestyle blog called HawaiiHome.me. It’s designed to provide useful, creative and fun information for folks living on Oahu. The site offers lifestyle articles, tips for homebuyers and remodelers, and information about communities on Oahu.

The blog looks clean, fresh and it’s easy to navigate. Initial topics for the blog included the 2014 color of the year, celebrating Chinese New Year, extraordinary home of the week, spotlight on Oahu neighborhoods, ideas for Aloha Super Bowl parties and an article focused on move-up buyers. I also saw a story on “Hosting an Awards Party,” and “Something Blue: Incorporating Blue into Your Home” – definitely a variety!

Coldwell hopes this new blog also will bring website visitors to the company’s main CBPacific.com site. The launch of this website is just one of Coldwell

Banker Pacific Properties’ overall social media and digital marketing strategies as the company steps up its online presence throughout Hawaii.

Minimize with the Band-It Wallet

This homegrown Band-It Wallet creation is possibly the opposite of tech, yet I absolutely love it. It’s the brainchild of Hawaii local Andrew Magpoc/A. Magpoc Designs. He now lives in Wisconsin, but he launched his special wallet on the popular crowdfunding website Kickstarter in June 2013.

Just to give you an idea of how successful his Kick-starter launch campaign was, his original goal was $13,000, but he was able to raise $64,973 with 3,508 backers! Although I’m a frequent visitor to Kick-starter, this was only the second time I funded a project, mostly because I thought the wallet was cool, plus it’s sort of locally grown.

Anyway, why is this the opposite of tech? It’s the perfect minimalist wallet when you want to unplug and carry almost nothing. It’s made from a piece of leather and a piece of elastic, and it can fit from one to 10 plastic cards (credit cards/IDs, etc.) and a few dollar bills – just what you need to slip into your smallest pocket while running or if you just don’t feel like carrying anything. The best part of it is you can toss it all over the place and nothing will fall out.

You can purchase a Band-It of your own (with various colors to choose from) for $18 at amagpoc.com/bandit.html. The Band-It 2.0 also now is available – it’s oriented vertically instead ($18). Personally, I have a pink-on-black version (the original) and I love it, especially when I don’t want to lug the entire contents of my wallet and purse with me.
