Lesportsac’s New Hawaii Exclusive Print
LeSportsac has unveiled Moana Ahe, a Hawaii-exclusive print by artist Kat Reeder who lives in Ewa Beach. A unique fusion of pin-up art, 1960s tropicalia and art nouveau, the Moana Ahe print celebrates an exotic ideal of the past, with tropical beauties, romantic landscapes and nostalgic undertones.
“Most of my work is always inspired by music,” says Reeder, a Peruvian-American illustrator whose work can be seen in galleries throughout Hawaii, the Mainland and Japan. “For this print, I was listening to old Hawaiian music. I wanted to blend my kind of aesthetic of retro, vintage and nostalgic imagery with LeSportsac’s cheery and colorful style.”
Reeder also has a second print for LeSportsac called Paradise Bloom scheduled for release in October. The Moana Ahe line of handbags will be available exclusively at LeSportsac Hawaii stores and other select locations.
Nicole Richie Collection At Macy’s
Macy’s has announced a collaboration with fashion icon, designer and television star Nicole Richie for a special collection to be carried exclusively by the retailer this fall. Launching in 100 Macy’s stores and on macys.com in September, the collection will be a continuation of the designer capsule series for the retailer’s contemporary fashion Impulse department.
“Nicole Richie for Impulse only at Macy’s” will feature exclusive, limited-edition apparel inspired by Richie’s trendsetting personal style, including 1970s-influenced silhouettes, prints and fabrications. The collection offers a well-rounded assortment of apparel from maxis and asymmetrical skirts, to cropped tops and fitted jackets. Retro prints take center stage in the form of bold peacock kaleido-scope, feather and deco chevron, while matte satin, velvet and chiffon fabrications add sophistication. Jewel tones anchor the color palette, while complementary gold and imperial blue hues create pops of color throughout. Prices range from $49 to $149.
