Duke’s Clothing at ACUW Fashion Show
The Associated Chinese University Women (ACUW) present its ‘Asian Rhythms and Motifs from China, Korea, Japan’ fashion show benefit luncheon Saturday, March 30 at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort (Tapa Ballroom) featuring fashions from Duke’s Clothing.
Located at 723 California Ave. in Wahiawa, Duke’s Clothing was opened in 1923 by Duke Manmoon as a tailor shop. Throughout the years, it’s transformed into a children’s store, then a men’s clothing store, later adding women’s apparel as well. Today, it’s primarily a women’s clothing store with a small selection for men, and for the past 30 years has been run by Manmoon’s daughter-in-law Gail Nakasone (inset photo).

“We are a quaint country store because we are in the country,” says Nakasone. “We cater to women 40 and up, and we feature casual to dressy evening wear.”
Some of the brands you’ll find include Citron, Peacock, Cupcake, Cut*Loose, Water Lily, Flax, Jess & Jane, Eucalyptus, Bagallini, Beads and Things by Kori Lau, You and Me Naturally and more. The store also holds quarterly trunks shows with the next one scheduled for July.
The ACUW fashion show benefit luncheon also will have a silent auction and boutique from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring handmade Easter baskets, baked goods, jewelry, fashion clothing, unique artwork, specialty gift baskets and much more.
