There will be modeling, champagne and appetizers, as well as drawings for prizes, discounts and a gift certificate every hour. The store also will be offering a special discount of 25 percent off all purchases made Sept. 27 to 29. “Chelsea has a rather eclectic mix of fashions as we try to fill the needs of our customers, who range in age from 20-something to 70-something,” says owner Naomi Noborikawa Loewe (pictured below right). “The one thing that our customers have in common is the desire to find comfortable fashions that are also unique. So often, older women’s fashions are somewhat boring. We try to give them an alternative while still covering the parts that are of concern to them.”

Some of the designers you’ll find are Petit Pois, Moonlight and Comfy, as well as European brands Cocopine, Deca and 2026. There also is a great one-of-a-kind kimono collection called the Chelsea Collection, and a nice variety of purses, scarves, hats, gift items and the Inuinu dog clothing line.

Loewe, who has 27 years of experience in retail and 31 years as a flight attendant for United Airlines (she retired in 2003), says the store is named after her favorite shopping district in London. She also used to co-own a gift store called G.Williker’s. “The one consistent comment we get from our customers is the great service that we offer them,” adds Loewe. “We love to work with customers to help find that perfect outfit for special occasions or coordinate a practical travel collection for them. This helps us to know our customers well and maintain their loyalty. Men love us because we still do complimentary gift wrapping!”
