Farrell’s 50th Fun Aids Arthritis Group

In celebration of its 50th anniversary nationwide, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant will sponsor the Farrell’s 50th Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at its shop in Pearlridge Center.

The event also is a fundraiser for Arthritis Foundation Hawaii, whose goal is to improve and advocate for the lives of people living with arthritis.

The festival will feature burger eating, ice cream eating and ice cream-decorating contests. During the burger eating contest, spectators can get involved by bidding on their favorite contestant with scrips. Donations will benefit Arthritis Foundation and the winner will earn a prize.

It all leads up to Farrell’s Ultimate Challenge, which will pit local chefs against one another in a showdown to create their own ice cream sundaes with a last-minute surprise ingredient.

The festivities occur inside the ice cream parlor and at Uptown Center Court.
