SISTER CITIES Joint concerts between sister cities Honolulu and Naha City, featuring Ikeda Suguru, are set for 2 and 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at Mamiya Theatre. Tickets cost $40 and $20. Call 391-0193.

HULA BENEFIT Kumu hula Leimomi Ho and her halau host a Grandparents Day fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Kahala Elementary cafeteria, 4559 Kilauea Ave., featuring a beef stew dinner, prizes, baked goods and a hula show by Keali‘ika‘apunihonua Ke‘ena A‘o Hula. Tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 at the door, $6 for keiki 5-12 years. Proceeds support travel to a hula competition in California Nov. 2-4. Call 734-0711.

EAST OAHU PLAN The city Department of Planning and Permitting seeks additional comments at community workshop on the East Oahu Sustainable Communities Plan (adopted in 1999) from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Niu Valley Middle School cafeteria.
