Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax

Overall, what did you think?

Tristan: It was awesome, and I liked the Dr. Seuss quote at the end.

Luke: It was good, and there was a good lesson about life.

Erik: I liked it because they sang and worked together

Marina: Although this is a children’s film, the police state of thNEEDsville and its total lack of realness is disturbing.

Yes, the message was great, but I would hate to see the world become so much like Waterworld. Trees and plants and animals are so vital to earth and life itself. I don’t like that the animals didn’t give the humans a harder time when their ecosystem was obliterated.

Bottom line is that the Lorax is a pacifist and not a very good guardian of the trees.

The animation was great in 3-D and all the characters did their job.

Only a handful of children’s movies are actually great (Meet the Robinsons, Finding Nemo and Despicable Me), and this one had all the elements, just not enough gumption.

It was a very soft rebellion in thNEEDsville. The revelation of the town’s people and the message on the other hand are priceless.

Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?

Erik: Teddy bears eating marshmallows.

Luke: When the Lorax mistakes the woman for a man.

Tristan: When the townspeople sing the “grow grow grow” song.

Marina: When Audrey describes trees to Ted.

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?

★★1/2.

To whom would you recommend this movie?

Luke: Small kids from 1 to 4 years old.

Tristan: Myself.

Marina: People with small kids and fans of Dr. Seuss books.

Luke: Zack Effron. Tristan: Betty White. Marina: Ed Helms.

Tristan: Ted.

Marina: The grandmother.

What is your favorite movie snack?

Marina: Red Vines as a straw in my root beer.

On a different note, what’s new with you?

I am currently working on turning my whole family vegetarian, one meal at a time. My photo booth company SHAKABOOTH is growing rapidly, and we are looking to hire an assistant to help while my broken arm heals.
