Recently I celebrated 25 years of practicing cosmetic, implant and restorative dentistry. In my Kaimuki practice, our focus is combining complex dental treatment with massage therapy. This allows patients to remain relaxed and comfortable while having all of their dental treatment completed in as little as two visits.

I created my unique Accelerated Cosmetic Treatment (ACT) to help patients finish treatment faster with fewer visits. Because of ACT, we receive referrals from dentists all over the world. About 40 percent of our patients fly in from outside Oahu. To help patients who are anxious about their treatment, I created the Dental Day Spa of Hawaii 12 years ago. Patients find the spa atmosphere and massage soothing.
I’ve proudly pursued excellence throughout my dental career. I tell my kids it’s important to be better today than yesterday, and I have endeavored to follow this advice. For instance, this year I became the first dentist on Oahu to achieve Accredited Fellow status with American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). I am one of only 63 dentists in the world who has attained fellowship in AACD’s 30-year history.
In addition, I enjoy teaching other dentists. It’s an honor to share my knowledge through lecturing and writing articles nationally and internationally. In January, I gave back by lecturing to Hawaii’s military dentists who treat those who serve our country. I also was invited in May to lecture and perform a “live patient” cosmetic procedure for AACD.
Furthermore, this year we’re celebrating the 15th anniversary of AACD’s national charity I co-founded with my practice manager Julie Bouvier. The Give Back A Smile Program helps survivors of domestic violence by restoring their smiles and giving them a new start.
