Snack, Smile And Share

By Glenn Nishida
President of Cookies in Paradise

Cookies in Paradise has been a proud manufacturer of made-in-Hawaii snacks for 16 years. Our best-known lines, not just confined to cookies, also include local-style party mix, which appear on grocery shelves under the brand names “Cookies in Paradise” and “Hawaiian Snowflake Cookie.”

I am honored to have served as the company president since last year. Under the Cookies in Paradise brand, we are most noted for our Furikake Party Mix that has such a large following during the Christmas holiday season – yep, it’s the one you may recognize in the plastic jar with the green aloha-print lid! Within our party-mix line, we offer our original flavor and furikake with Japanese rice-cracker mixes. We also manufacture a cookie line: a suite of various cookies ranging from our signature Macadamia Nut Shortbread to the kids’ favorite Muncha Buncha.

As a deep-rooted local favorite, we also produce Chinese-style fruit preserves marinated in a mouth-watering “mui” sauce.

The Hawaiian Snowflake Cookie brand is a longtime manufacturer of the Snowflake Cookie, also known as the Chinese Pretzel. Recently, we expanded this line by providing a chocolate-dipped version that has been extremely popular.

Our Cookies in Paradise brand name continues to grow and our products have found their niche with locals, as well as domestic and international visitors. Our products are found across the state in Costco Wholesale stores, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Longs Drugs and Don Quijote. Our employees operate on a simple set of values that are pillars for everything that we do. We focus on satisfying the consumer’s expectations. We produce quality products at a reasonable price for all to enjoy. Our success is totally dependent on the motivated members of our Cookies in Paradise family. We build, respect and nurture our relationships with resellers and retailers. And we take the utmost pride making our products right here in Hawaii.

The Cookies in Paradise mission is to produce a “snack, smile and share” experience. We understand that the consumer wants new innovative products along with the predictable taste and texture of their longtime favorites. In response, we are always looking at expanding the existing lines and creating new ones. We are constantly working diligently on quality assurance processes in maintaining the existing products. Thus far in my tenure as president, it has been an exciting company challenge to support the needs and wants of the consumer and the snack industry. But I couldn’t be more proud to do that as part of the Cookies in Paradise family.
