Waimanalo folks know how to have fun in the sun, and Sept. 9 and 10 were especially good times for the community’s annual Sunset on the Beach. With support from the city and a host of great bands, food vendors and clubs, the annual celebration was a treat for all ages. This year, the parade committee introduced boxing and bikes — an amateur boxing exhibition and a Harley Davidson motorcycle show — to the mix. When not eating a massive plate lunch or browsing the community booths, families could enjoy the firefighter displays and inflatable rides, arts and crafts, book sales and pineapple tub rides. The Kalamalama Brothers, B.E.T., Moki Boy and many more lit up the stage before the movies came on each night.
