Pearl City Gateway shopping center held a blessing last month for its 150,000-square-foot shopping complex, which will celebrate with a grand opening next year.

Stores already in business at the Gateway include Petco, David’s Bridal, Roger Dunn golf store (formerly located across the street at Pearl Highlands Center) and the first Babies “R"Us in Hawaii. The center expects to add a CVS Pharmacy (formerly Longs Drugs) in early 2010, as well as a 22,000-square-foot McDonald’s, on which construction will begin early next year.

Real estate company Robertson Properties Group and leasing broker Colliers Monroe Friedlander are in talks with other prospective tenants about leasing available retail space, which includes a 6,000-square-foot restaurant and a 25,000-square-foot building.

Pearl City Gateway shopping center is located at the corner of Kuala Road and Acacia Street.
