Next time you wind up to the top of Kamehame Ridge, you’ll arrive at the Hawaiian Leadership Academy.

Winners’ Camp changed its name recently to better describe what it does, said founding director Delorese Gregoire. But to her and to its more than 1,000 graduates, the Hawaii Kai facility always will be Winners’ Camp.

“We’ve accomplished a great deal with this program, and our new name reflects both the facilities we now have to offer and the skills we teach our participants,” said Gregoire. Hawaii Leadership Academy helps teenagers (age 12 to 16) through team-building exercises and encourages better relationships with family.

Winners’ Camp Foundation will be the name of the 23-year-old nonprofit organization that produces the academy. Fee for the academy’s services range from $980 to $1,200.
