New York celebrity fashion designer Indashio has landed in Hawaii bringing with him his newest Viva Las Vegas Spring 2008 Collection - arriving in Hawaii straight from its debut at New York Fashion Week last fall.

The show takes place this Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Honolulu Design Center from 7 to 9 p.m., presented by HILuxury Magazine.

“This is my first trip to Hawaii, and it’s like a dream come true for me,” says Indashio, aka Brad Batory. “As a little boy, I would read all the travel brochures and fantasize about coming here.

“And the feedback I am getting from locals is amazing. The people are so genuine, fun, beautiful and fashionable. I never expected that, but the people are very fashion-forward here.”

Known for his fun, sexy and over-the-top fashions, Indashio, 23, is one of the youngest designers to have ever graced the New York, Miami and Los Angeles fashion shows.

Since launching his line in 2003, Indashio has been featured in countless fashion publications, including WWD, and can be seen regularly on MTV with appearances on the network’s 8th & Ocean, Made and MTV News.

He also has produced and styled numerous celebrity cover shoots for clients such as Nicky Hilton, Vanessa Carlton, Kim Kardashian and Tyra Banks. And he has worked with world-renowned photographers, including Nigel Barker, Richard Reinsdorf and Kai Regan to name a few.

Coming up next is a VH1 show called Sew Good hosted by pop star Kelis. “We just finished filming the pilot,” says Indashio. “It’s kind of like an urban Project Runway.”

Indashio, who is a self-taught and self-made fashion designer, describes his clients as not only celebrities and socialites, but also fashionistas who crave exclusivity.

“They want what everyone else can’t have,” he explains. “I design for the person who loves attention and all eyes on them.

“My clothes are so sexy. If they are almost, practically naked, it’s probably an Indashio.”

His newest collection was inspired by Las Vegas and features a variety of mini cocktail dresses and evening gowns with sexy details such as plunging necklines, sheer fabrics, high-slits and low-back cuts.

“This season, it’s all about the showgirl,” says Indashio. “My muse, Vivalicious Franson, is the epitome of the showgirl and the jet-setting lifestyle, hence the name Viva Las Vegas collection.”

Franson, a Kaneohe native now living in New York, is known as a fashion entrepreneur with various roles including stylist, manager, talent scout and fashion expert.

Indashio was born and raised in Pittsfield, Mass., and later moved to Florida to start his fashion line in Miami. He eventually moved to New York City and continues to reside there today.

Ironically, Indashio says he never thought he would ever be a designer. It started as a hobby during his senior year in high school when he would re-create clothes for himself and his sisters. From there it became a passion and a dream, and then his life.

“I love when people wear my clothes,” he says. “I see them look in the mirror and they light up. It’s like magical. I love making people look good. When you look good, you feel good.”

The name Indashio was initially created as an alter ego, as Batory wanted to remain anonymous. Now, it’s what people are screaming for in the fashion world.
