Internationally renowned Korean fashion designer, Andre Kim, brings his latest creations to Hawaii with a benefit dinner and fashion show Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. The event will benefit the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) Apparel Product Design and Merchandising Program, as well as celebrate KBFD TV’s 20th anniversary.

“This event is seen not only as a charitable event, but one which will be a magnificent learning opportunity for the students and faculty in our program,” says Andrew Hashimoto, CTAHR dean. “We look forward to receiving Andre Kim and his celebrity models from Korea and sharing his culturally unique production to benefit our fashion design program.”

Students in CTAHR’s Apparel Product Design and Merchandising Program, the department’s largest program with 160-plus students, will have a chance to work backstage alongside 70-year-old Kim and his crew during rehearsals and the show.

Kim’s elaborate shows often feature top Korean celebrities, and the upcoming Honolulu show will be no different with K-drama stars Shim Jee Ho (Stained Glass), Kim Min Jung (Fashion 70s), and Hawaiifavorite Jeong Joon Ho (The Twins, Marrying the Mob) as the main models on the runway.

Featured here are some of Kim’s fashions from a recent show in Korea. Ticket prices range from $200 per seat up to $5,000 for a premium table of 10. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 956-6016 or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
