Del.icio.usWhen Tig Kehm was 10 years old and living in Orlando, Fla., she was helping her dad swap a transmission out of a Camaro. Since then, the car bug has had her build a mini truck, which was popular in the ’80s, and later a Cavalier.
“Actually I hated the xB’s. I thought it was a box on wheels,” says Kehm. “I saw quite a few of them that had been modified, and one in particular just triggered me to have one. They’re easy to mod, and then no two xB’s look alike after you start to mod it.”
After getting her xB, which she named Temptress, she knew the plan was to compete in car shows and win. So the basic model was sufficient for what she had in mind.
“I installed the vertical doors two months after getting it,” says Kehm. “I probably voided every warranty on the car within the first two or three months of getting it, but I kept the mods hidden until I had more mods installed. Then I entered Hot Import Nights and since then I’ve taken 12 trophies.”
The direct port NOS (Nitrous Oxide System) is only a few weeks old, but Kehm prides the awesome ICE (In Car Entertainment) system as the car’s best feature.
