Tesoro Raises $15K For Hospice

Hospice Hawaii president Ken Zeri (left) accepts a donation to its first Hot Pursuit fundraiser from Tesoro Hawaii’s Lance Tanaka, manager of government and public affairs, and Dan Carlson, vice president of refining. Hospice Hawaii’s inaugural Hot Pursuit raised nearly $35,000 and included more than 250 race participants. Tesoro Hawaii topped the fundraising efforts with a $15,000 donation.

Averill Gets Freedom Fighter Award

University of Phoenix Hawai’i campus director Kristine Averill (left) received the Freedom Fighter Award from Col. Matthew T. Margotta, commander, U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii, for the university’s commitment to Hawaii’s military. The University of Phoenix Hawaii offers $52,000 annually in tuition waivers so U.S. Army personnel and their spouses have access to a quality education.
