Clean Energy Fair Bringing Experts To Waimanalo

Seeking ways to make Hawaii more sustainable, a Clean Energy Fair is planned for 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Hawaii National Guard Training Center at Bellows Air Station.

Guest speakers will include Honolulu Sea Water Air Conditioning’s Frederick Berg, First Wind’s Kekoa Kaluhiwa, Solar City’s Jon Yoshimura, DBEDT’s Mark Glick of the state Energy Office, and state Rep. Cynthia Thielen, a champion of local wave energy solutions.

“This is a perfect opportunity for residents to learn about the direction our state is headed when it comes to renewable energy,” said state Sen. Pohai Ryan, sponsor of the fair.

“It also will give them a chance to learn about the role major utilities are playing in delivering clean energy to our residents.”

Clean energy experts also will man information booths at the event.
