Where and with whom did you see the movie?

I went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron with my husband Kevin, my 11-year-old son Kevin, 6-year-old son Ethan and 4-year-old daughter Vivianne.

Overall, what did you think?

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. There were hints of humor throughout the movie that had the entire theater laughing out loud. There were endearing moments, without making the movie turn mushy. Action packed — at the end of the movie, my boys exited enacting fighting scenes from the movie. They really enjoyed the movie, especially the fighting scenes.

I do have to say, there were a few words that I would have preferred my young children didn’t hear.

Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?

One of my favorite scenes was when Captain America expressed his sentiments of unity within the team, fighting together
and even losing together.

I also truly enjoyed the scene where Thor challenged his teammates to lift his weapon.

I laughed as each person’s futile attempt to lift Thor’s hammer ended in dismal failure. Mr. Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., even used his super-power-filled glove to try to show that he could raise the hammer.

If Iron Man couldn’t do it, who could? You just have to go and watch to find out!

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?

I give this film ★★★★ because it was entertaining. I laughed, I gasped, I jumped in surprise and waited in anticipation. Seeing my kids enjoy this movie, that was the prize.

I may just plan an Avengers-themed party for my boys!

What did you think of the cinematography?

The cinematography of Avengers was good. The work and effort to convey destruction was impressive. The scene in Russia where the earth was coming apart, cars being devoured, mountains crumbling, glass shattering — the work involved to portray true destruction was astounding.

Was the message/theme clear?

The message of unity was very clear and first introduced by Captain America. The theme was carried throughout by the entire cast of the Avengers team. The fight was a team effort.

Did it remind you of any other works of film?

Well, it is comparable to other Marvel movies. The heroes face a life-threatening obstacle that challenges their value system, and what seems impossible becomes possible and they prevail.

What made Avengers unique is the cast of characters and bringing together multiple heroes. You couldn’t help but be charmed by the Hulk and his soft, human form.

Did any of the actors stand out?
We all love heroes! Each hero had his/her own superpower that was vital to the team’s success.

Did you identify with any of the characters?

Don’t all moms have superpowers?!

Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?

Well, I believe the acting overpowered the soundtrack. In my opinion, it was secondary.

Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD?

I am going to buy this movie for my boys as soon as it is available!

What’s your favorite movie snack?

My favorite movie snack is buttered popcorn with mochi crunch and jalapenos.

On a different note, what’s new with you?

Every day brings something new. I’ve been baking and making confections. I’ve named this little hobby Haute Confectionery Boutique. I create island- inspired treats.
