Augie T Laughs Aid West Causes

Local comedian Augie T has a busy month ahead, with performances planned throughout the state. He returns to Kapolei July 19 for a 7 p.m. show at Kapolei High School auditorium.

Tickets are $10, and all proceeds will benefit the Makakilo Ducks Youth Flag Football team. For tickets, call Sharina at 457-7028.

It also will be an exciting month of Augie T’s daughter, Mahealani Sims-Tulba, who will travel to Florida for the Miss Jr. High School America competition. Sims-Tulba is an eighth-grader-to-be at American Renaissance Academy who finished last school year with a 3.95 GPA. In her spare time, she volunteers with a number of organizations including the Children’s Miracle Network, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Red Cross and American Heart Association.

As a part of her pageant platform, she aims to raise awareness about bullying. She also is set to release her first children’s book, It’s Okay to be Different, which she both wrote and illustrated.

The family is seeking donations to fund her participation in the pageant. For more information and to donate, visit augiet.com/mahealani/support-mahealani.html.
