Arce Returning With Ambitious Plans

Kaiser senior guard Chantelle Arce didn’t have to look far for a role model in basketball. Older sister Chandler was right there.

“She set the tone for me,” Chantelle said of Chandler, who now plays on the Chaminade women’s team. “My family always has had high expectations for me, and I want to live up to them. My sister had the highest amount of 3-pointers in the state her senior year, and I want to have a good senior year like she did.”

Arce is the leading scorer among Kaiser returnees, having averaged 8.1 points per outing last season. The Cougars will host a pair of 6:30 p.m. games this week: defending DI state champion Kamehameha Thursday and Mid Pac Saturday.

Arce recently spoke with MidWeek‘s East Oahu Islander.

When you have free time, how do you like to spend it? I’m either on my phone, watching TV, sleeping or eating.

If you were planning a trip, what would be your dream destination? France or Italy.

You’re stuck on Kahoolawe and can have just one food. What would it be? Pasta. I love fettuccine Alfredo.
