On a recent Thursday, Allan McAngus needed to prepare for the recent storms, so he took a trip to Safeway in Ewa Beach. Before leaving the store at 12:50 p.m., Mid-Week‘s representative approached Allan with a simple question. He answered correctly and instantly won a $150 Safeway shopping spree.

“We come here at least once a week,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, a retired “wrench” (aka mechanic) at Hickam Air Force Base. “We’ve been shopping here ever since they opened. I like the products they have. They’ve got just about everything you need, and we’ve had only good experiences with the store and the people here. It’s also convenient and the parking is great.”

Allan was born and raised in Waipahu, and graduated from Waipahu High School in 1963. He and wife Tina have three grown children and five grandchildren. A former Pop Warner coach for almost four decades, Allan enjoys anything automotive and football. He also likes to read MidWeek.

“I like everything about MidWeek,” he said. “I like Ron Nagasawa’s column and all the different articles. Also Mufi’s and Jerry Coffee’s stories.”
