Montessori For Teachers
Montessori methods will be in the spot- light this summer as Chaminade University prepares for its biennial Montessori Summer Institute July 5-18 on the Kaimuki campus.
The two-week intense workshop is for the teaching community and focuses on the 3- to 9-year-old child. Those interested in “revitalizing their classroom teaching skills” are welcome to enroll by the June 1 deadline. The $1,750 fee includes breakfast and lunch, with accommodations also available.
The institute will use lectures, demonstrations, field experiences and material- making to convey Montessori’s emphasis on independence, freedom within limits and a respect for each child’s natural development.
